It hasn't even been a year with Joe Biden as President and the destruction he has caused is extreme. More and more Americans are realizing the chasm between left and right is expanding at an ever-increasing rate. Let's face it; uneducated citizens are part of the problem. The current public school system certainly isn't helping. Sounds hyperbolic, but homeschooling has the potential of being THE solution.
Wow. I feel like my entire life has led up to this moment: entering the battle to save my country. If you are at this site, it is probably because you've been watching the news, the real news, where actual journalists are reporting on the anti-American, racist, sexist, and pornographic material that is being taught in public schools.
You're scared for your children, or grandchildren, or nieces or nephews, but the idea of homeschooling seems overwhelming and you feel underqualified. There is a verse in the Bible (Romans 12:2) that says, "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." One of my goals here is to help you change your thinking. If someone was physically attacking your child, wouldn't the mother/father bear in you shred the attacker? We need to view what's happening with the same kind of urgency.
Please join this battle with me! Encourage others to join too. To quote Larry Elder, ...
My views on Covid match my views on homeschooling. It's all about self-determination and patriotism, which is why I decided to do a DropOut video on this topic that doesn't seem connected to homeschooling. It's a longer video than I normally do, but it's educational and several people I've shown it to have had some "aha moments," particularly about the math.
From a fundraising email for foundation for economic education, FEE, a homeschooling advocacy organization.
My younger daughter and I snuggled up to watch the new Netflix film, Rescued by Ruby, last weekend. It’s based on a true story about an unruly shelter dog who becomes an acclaimed police K-9 search-and-rescue pup. As you may recall, we adopted a shelter dog last fall (Luna is doing great!), and so the sweet story line was appealing. I highly recommend it for your family movie night!
What made the movie even better, though, was the surprising and glowing mention of homeschooling and how it becomes a key strategy for success in the story. The main character’s wife says to him:
“You say you hated school. You say you didn’t want to sit at your desk and listen. You wanted to run around, not read. Teachers underestimated you but you have always been smart. You would have done better homeschooled. Homeschooling would have appreciated your differences, your energy, your ...
This is from a fundraising letter for the HSLDA. IMO they are good guys and worthy of a donation.
Family Wrongly Accused
In a recent case in Florida, HSLDA Staff Attorney TJ Schmidt helped a homeschooling family who was accused by the local school district of not sending their children to school. Public school officials sent a letter to these HSLDA members, asserting that their children had been reported as truant and therefore the district needed to conduct an educational portfolio review. These homeschool parents knew something was fishy and immediately contacted HSLDA.
HSLDA then discovered that, due to a malicious report from an anonymous third party, the school district had sent a truancy officer to visit the family's home. Schmidt intervened on behalf of the family with a letter to school officials and thankfully, the investigation was dropped.
Hundreds of homeschool families face situations like this every day. Sometimes child protective services unnecessarily gets ...
Homeschooling numbers remain highly elevated despite public (schools) having reopened, dropped mask mandates
In 18 states that shared data through the current school year, the number of homeschooling students increased by 63% in the 2020-2021 school year, then fell by only 17% in the 2021-2022 school year.
